Naama Tsabar: Perimeters Record Release
-
Join us at Public Records for a collective listening of a new hybrid vinyl and exhibition catalogue documenting recent major performances at The Bass Museum of Art.
Kasmin and Shulamit Nazarian invite you to celebrate the release of Naama Tsabar: Perimeters, a new hybrid vinyl record and exhibition catalogue, at Public Records, Brooklyn, on Friday, July 28 from 6-8pm. The event is free to the public and will offer an opportunity for first listening as part of a collective experience in keeping with the tenor of the artist's public and interactive performances. The artist will be present.
Documenting the large-scale collaborative performances associated with the artist’s 2021-22 solo exhibition, Perimeters, at The Bass Museum of Art, Miami Beach, this unique release from the institution includes essays by curators Leilani Lynch (Associate Curator, The Museum of Contemporary Art Denver) and Nat Trotman (Curator, Performance and Media, at the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum, New York.)
Tsabar works at the intersection of architecture, music, sculpture and performance, and as part of the exhibition, transformed The Bass into a playable instrument activated by sound holes, instrument parts and microphones. By collaborating with local communities of female-identifying and gender non-conforming performers, Tsabar contributes to feminist and queer discourses through movement, sound and space.
