This publication was prepared to accompany the gallery’s exhibition at the ADAA Art Show of some of the artist’s very last collages, and reproduces excerpts from the 1983 Barbara Rose monograph (produced to accompany the Museum of Modern Art’s career retrospective). Rose’s text presents an intimate behind-the-scenes portrait of the artist at work on the late collages – which often combined elements from unfinished paintings from the 1940s with newer elements of works made in the 70s and 80s. Previously unpublished photos of Krasner in 1983 round out this portrait of the artist in her late career.
